Staging a home is the process of strategically arranging furniture and decor to make your house look its best while selling. We know that selling your home can sometimes be difficult and may take longer than you would like. However, knowing how to stage your home to sell can really help your home sell faster. A 2017 National Association of Realtors report found that 77 percent of buyers’ agents said staging makes it easier for people to visualize the property as theirs.Stage The Most Important Rooms First
Living room, dining room and master bedroom are statistically the most important rooms, so it’s important to make a good first impression with these rooms. While ideally every room would be “staged,” we know that time and money play a factor in staging, so if you can only do a few rooms, do these three first.Get Rid Of The Clutter
It’s really important to not only make your home look cleaner and be more visually appealing, but also try and put away personal items. It’s ok to leave out a few things here and there. However, the people looking at your home need to be able to picture themselves living there, and they can’t do that with pictures of another family hanging around.
TIP: Don’t just shove your clutter in closets. People will look in there and you want them to appear roomy!Don’t Forget About The Outside
Curb appeal is an important part in the staging process. A few simple things you can do to spruce up the outside of your home are:
- Power washing
- Planting flowers
- Trimming any shrubbery or bushes
- Cleaning windows
- A welcome mat
